A 64-year-old male became sensory aphasic after a left temporal lobe infarct 15 years previously. The aphasia recovered to a considerable extent. But, a new infarct in the right temporal lobe remarkably worsened it. The contribution of the non-dominant hemisphere to the recovery of language is discussed.
