초록

Moyamoya disease usually presents as seizures or focal neurologic deficits such as motor paresis, sensory deficit and speech disturbances. It rarely presents with limb-shaking. We experienced a 44-year-old man with Moyamoya disease who showed shaking involuntary movements of the left upper and lower limbs. These symptoms were triggered by exercise or hyperventilation. Brain MRI detected ischemic lesions in the right frontal area. Both middle cerebral arteries(MCA) and right anterior cerbral artery(ACA) were occluded, and fine basal collateral vessels were observed on angiography. SPECT demonstrated low perfusion and reduced vascular reserve in the right frontoparietal areas. EEG showed no epileptic discharges. Low perfusion in the borderzone between MCA and ACA territory may be related to the pathogenesis of the patient’s limb shaking. Korean Journal of Stroke 1999;1(2): 251~254
