Abstract
This study was performed to identify the predictors of breast cancer screening performance using mammography in Korean women. Data were surveyed using interview and questionnaires by 174 patients who visited a general hospital which was located in Chungnam area from January 12 to February 27, 2015. General characteristics of subjects were analyzed using descriptive statistics indicating the frequency distribution and percentages of data. Mammography screening performance according to general characteristics and health behaviors was conducted using X2-test. Predictors of mammography screening performance were analyzed by multiple logistic regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, the response rate(66.7%) of non-screening acceptance group who performed breast-feeding was significantly higher than the response rate(46.0%) of screening acceptance group(X²=0.71, p<.05). Secondly, screening acceptance group who performed other screening was significantly higher 5.17 times than non-screening acceptance group(95% Cl=1.26-10.74). In conclusion, it necessary to provide more mammography information which can change the negative attitude among the public toward breast cancer screening acceptance using mammography.
