Abstract
It is within bounds to say that human beings have built their history through language. Their cultures can have been built by forming groups. In order to maintain and develop their groups, language has been indispensable for them. Although people have created their glorious cultures, language also has their own limitation. Language is absolutely insufficient to express all of human’s profound emotions. Therefore, people have developed the realm of language to supplement the weakness of language and to communicate with their emotions. Since the modernization in the 20th century, our society had required high productivity improvement. In that society, human emotions were easily overlooked. Emotions were considered not only consumptiveness but also hindrance of reasonable thoughts, which was not helpful for productivity improvement. As a result, people were not concerned about their emotions. However, no one can survive merely without expression of their emotion. Those who were exhausted of the society which extremely required rationality tried to seek an outlet to express their emotions. Afterwards, based on the advanced technology in the modern era, human beings create a variety of fields to express their own emotions. Within this social environment, art has been deeply involved in our human life under the name of Public Art. Art has created various ways for an extensive communication among people. Especially, as the mode for art expression was combined with modern media, it attracted the public as well as artists or a few appreciators who could understand abstruse art. It was a very meaningful phenomenon in this society where the role of appreciators becomes more important. While artists can form a communication field through their art works within media, appreciators can be another artist to express messages in the field. Therefore, art facilitates intrinsic communication among people through media. In other words, appreciators and artists establish the wider communication by means of media than ever before. This study suggests the changed part of appreciators and artists, and predicts our future communication through media.
