보건계열 학생의 정보 및 도서관 이용 방법과 특징: 치위생 전공 학생을 대상으로

Abstract

This research is about Dental Hygienics university students' learning-information and library usage methods, and their features. A survey was conducted for three months in three universities starting in October 2014. The participants were randomly selected among all the students from their freshmen to senior year of study. The results indicate that, firstly, the initiative to acquire information is relatively highest, when it is related with classes. Secondly, there is a high preference for sources recommended by acquaintances and internet websites. Thirdly, the selection of factors for an information source is accessibility and the amount of information. Fourthly, library satisfaction is relatively high when students use class-related materials. Fifthly, there is high satisfaction for learning spaces, however, there is dissatisfaction about various events in the library. Sixthly, there is no difference about the recognition of a lack of information and the initiative to use information between universities but there are differences between the different years of study. Seventhly, conversely, there are differences between grades, but no difference between universities, about the preference of information sources. Eighthly, there are distinct differences of library usage between the groups (grades, universities). Based on these results, education of library information literacy should be developed to be able to increase the accessibility of credible sources for future Dental Hygiene students. And the development of service methods is recommended to offer actively both cultural and job related information, not only class-related information in the university library. Also, before implementation in order to develop these services, we should closely examine the characteristics of each group such as schools and grades.
