부모의 사회경제적 요인이 자녀의 교정치료 경험에 미치는 영향

이 연구는 제 5기 국민건강영양조사를 이용하여 부모의 사회경제적 요인에 따라 만 1∼18세 미만 자녀의 교정치료에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고 교정치료 경험에 따라 구강건강 상태를 조사하고자 하였다. 전체 연구대상자 중 교정치료 경험자는 31.6%이었으며, 월 가구 소득에 따라 교정치료 경험자는 ‘상’군이 44.9%로 가장 높은 것에 비해 비경험자는 ‘중상’인 군이 33.1%로 가장 많아 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.001). 영구치우식경험이 있는 교정치료 경험자는 70.9%로 비경험자 45.3%에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 많았다. 사회경제적 요인에 따라 로지스틱 회귀분석을 한 결과 교정치료 경험에 영향을 미치는 요인은 남아에 비해 여아에서 1.47배, 시 지역에 비해 군 지역이 0.62배, 월 가구소득이 ‘하’군에 비해 ‘상’군이 2.51배, 어머니의 교육수준이 고졸 이하에 비해 대졸 이상이 2.60배로 높은 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 자녀의 교정치료 경험은 부모의 사회경제적 요인에 영향을 받으므로 교정치료의 수요에 대한 치과의료 자원의 불균형 조절이 필요하다.
Abstract
This study intended to figure out whether the children aged 1-18 years in our country experienced orthodontic treatment or not, by which to analyze socioeconomic factors deciding orthodontic treatment and the demand for it, and also to examine the oral health status according to the experience of orthodontic treatment. The subjects of 5,134, whose one or both of parents had completed oral health examination and a survey, who participated in the 5th KNHANES (a cross-sectional survey conducted by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) were selected for analysis. The chi-square analysis of general characteristics and the oral health status according to whether or not experienced orthodontic treatment was conducted, and the logistic regression analysis of the correlation between socioeconomic factors and whether or not experienced orthodontic treatment was implemented. 31.6% of the study subjects were orthodontic treatment experience. Prevalence of these was significantly higher among the girls. Logistic regression showed that girls(OR=1.47, 95% CI:1.18-1.83), higher income level(OR=2.51, 95% CI:1.43-2.80) and higher mother`s education level(OR=2.60, 95% CI:1.80-3.76) were more likely to have orthodontic treatment experience. Considering the difference among subjects for the experience of orthodontic treatment, it is required to adjust the imbalance of medical resources for the demand of orthodontic treatment with lots of non-insured items.
