"하악 제2대구치에서 C형 근관(C-shaped root canal) 형태를 가진 치수강이 치근 연역으로 연장되어 있는 우상치(taurdodontia) 가 종종 발견된다. 이런 치아의 경우, 형태적 특성으로 인해 근관 입구를 찾는 것이 매우 어렵고, 치수강저가 낮아 시야 확보가 힘든 경우가 많으며 다양한 형태 변이를 보여 근관 치료의 난이도가 높다. 그러므로, C형 근관 우상치의해부학적 변이에 대한 파악과 치료 방법 선택은 적절한 근관 치료를 위해 상당히 중요하다. 본 증례보고에서는 Melton의type II 및 type III C형 형태 hyperdont 우상치를 다루었으며, 이러한 치아에서 현미경과 초음파 기구를 사용하여 근관치료를 시행한 2가지 증례를 보고하고자 한다."
Abstract
"In the mandibular second molar, taurodontia which is defined as an extension of the pulp chamber into the root area with a Cshaped root canal are often found. In the case of these teeth, it is very difficult to find the entrance to the root canal due to their morphological characteristics, and it is often difficult to achieve proper visibility due to the low position of the pulp floor, and various morphological variations are shown, making it difficult to treat the root canal. Therefore, understanding the anatomical variations of the C-shaped taurodontia and selecting appropriate treatment methods are very important for proper root canal treatment. In this case report, Melton’s type II and type III C-shaped hyperdont taurodontia were treated using a microscope and ultrasonic instruments ."
