부모의 소명의식과 자녀의 진로태도성숙의 관계: 부모의 일-가정 균형과 진로관련행동의 다중매개효과

초록

본 연구는 부모의 소명의식과 청소년 자녀의 진로태도성숙 간의 관계를 매개하는 경로들을 탐색하였다. 구체적으로, 부모의 소명의식과 자녀의 진로태도성숙의 관계를 부모의 일-가정 균형과 자녀에 대한 진로관련행동이 매개하는지 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 대한민국에 거주 중인 일하는 부모와 중학생 자녀를 대상으로 부-자녀 또는 모-자녀의 219쌍을 모집하여 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 최종적으로 189쌍의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 주요 변인들 간의 상관관계를 분석하고, 부모의 소명의식과 자녀의 진로태도성숙의 관계에서 부모의 일-가정 균형 및 진로관련행동의 하위요인인 지지와 간섭에 따른 순차적 매개효과 검증을 위해 SPSS PROCESS Macro의 모델 81을 이용하여 다중매개모형을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 부모의 소명의식과 자녀의 진로태도성숙의 상관은 유의하지 않았으나, 부모의 소명의식과 자녀의 진로태도성숙 사이에서 부모의 일-가정 균형과 진로관련행동의 순차적 매개효과가 유의하게 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 자녀의 진로태도성숙을 위한 부모의 소명과 일-가정에서의 역할에 관한 연구를 위한 제언과 상담적 함의를 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore mediated pathways between parent’s perception of calling and adolescent child’s career attitude maturity. Specifically, we examined the mediating effects of parent’s work-family balance and career-related behavior between parent’s perception of calling and their child’s career attitude maturity. 219 pairs of adult parents and their middle school children residing in South Korea completed an online survey, a final sample of 189 father-child or mother-child pairs of data were analyzed. The correlations among main variables were first analyzed. To test the sequential mediating effects of parents’ work-family balance and the support and interference factors of parent’s career-related behavior between parents’ perception of calling and their adolescent child’s career attitude maturity, the multiple mediation model was analyzed by SPSS PROCESS Macro Model 81. The correlation between parent’s perception of calling and adolescent child’s career attitude maturity was not significant, but the sequential mediating effect of parent’s work-family balance and career support behavior between parent’s perception of calling and adolescent child’s career attitude maturity was significant. Based on the study results, suggestions for future research and implications for counseling practice on parents’ calling and their roles in work and family for the maturation of career attitudes of their children were discussed.
