19세기 典醫監의 구성과 운영 양상 －『官案』및 『事例』를 중심으로－

Abstract

The recently unveiled Jeonuigam’s Gwanan(list of officers) and Salye (Case), collection of the Heojun Museum, are folded manuscripts, and are the only copies containing the composition and regulations of Jeonuigam, and the list of Jeonuigam’s officers. In this article, the bibliography and contents of this newly published literature were analyzed and considered as a whole, and the composition and operational aspects of Jeonuigam in the period contained in the literature were analyzed. There is no separate preface, but when examined through the contents, this document was first recorded between 1834 and 1836, and supplemented until 1880. In view of the non-systematic classification of items, the purpose of this document is to identify former and incumbent officials of Jeonuigam and to understand various regulations of Jeonuigam related to officials. Therefore, the authors and readers of this literature are specified as medical officials among Jeonuigam members. Beyond the contents of this content, the following facts can be known. First, for the officers of Jeonuigam, passing uigwa(medical exam) was very important for promotion. Second, ‘Won(original)’ in the genealogy of medical officers refers to original Deungje’s office, and ‘Sin(new)’ refers to new Deungje’s office. Third, the establishment of the deung system would have made Jeonuigam's official position more solid. Fourth, the weakened situation of Uiseoseubdoggwan in the 19th century is confirmed. Fifth, Jeonuigam's work is divided into general work and six major tasks. Sixth, in the middle of the 18th century, new educational positions called Hunjang and Yegyeomhunsang were created. In conclusion, this literature provides rich and new facts about Jeonuigam in the 19th century. This literature needs to be approached as a subject for further research through comparison with Jeonuigam and other medical authorities in the future.
