무인교통단속장비의 단속건수 영향 요인 분석

최근 급증한 무인교통단속장비 대수에도 불구하고, 신호위반 및 과속으로 인한 교통사고 감소율은 저조한 실정이다. 본 연구는 잠재적 사고 위험성을 지니고 있는 무인교통단속장비의 단속자료를 통해 이에 미치는 영향 요인들을 찾고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 전국 시도경찰청별 단속건수 최상위 지점에서의 2년간 단속자료와 사고자료, 도로 환경 자료들이 수집되었다. 이를 토대로, 회귀분석으로 영향 요인을 찾고, 상관분석으로 지역별 단속건수-사고건수 간 연관성을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 회귀분석을 통해 도출된 표준화 회귀계수의 크기는 교차로의 경우, 차로수-제한속도 유형(0.213) > 장비 운용 경과 월수(-0.144) > 도로 종류(0.112) 순으로 나타났으며 단일로의 경우, 장비 운용 경과 월수(-0.234) > 차로수(0.220) > 평면선형(-0.154) > 특정존 여부(-0.130) 순으로 나타났다. 또한, 단속건수-사고건수 간 상관분석 결과, 4개 지역의 상관계수(충북 0.48, 경북 0.37, 경기 남부 0.31, 전남 -0.30)가 통계적으로 유의(p<0.05)한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 정책 결정권자 및 실무자로 하여금 교통법규 위반 감소와 더불어 관련사고 예방을 위한 대책 수립에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Abstract
Despite the rapid increase in automated traffic enforcement system, the reduction in traffic accidents caused by signal violations and speeding remains limited. This study analyzes enforcement data from automated systems to identify factors influencing potential accident risks. Two years of enforcement, accident, and road environment data were collected from top enforcement locations in provincial police jurisdictions nationwide. Regression analysis identified influencing factors, and correlation analysis examined the relationship between enforcement cases and accident counts by region. Regression results showed that for intersections, standardized regression coefficients ranked as follows: number of lanes-speed limit type (0.213) > months of equipment operation (-0.144) > road type (0.112). For single roads, the ranking was: months of equipment operation (-0.234) > number of lanes (0.220) > horizontal alignment (-0.154) > presence of designated zones (-0.130). Correlation analysis revealed statistically significant correlations (p<0.05) in four regions: Chungbuk (0.48), Gyeongbuk (0.37), Southern Gyeonggi (0.31), and Jeonnam (-0.30). The results are expected to aid policymakers and practitioners in formulating strategies to reduce traffic law violations and prevent related accidents.
