Abstract

The Study for Asianism is biased before the war mainly, it can not be said for the study of post-war ‘Asianism’ is to be sufficient in the Japanese literature until now. Through access to the substantive Afro-Asian Writers' Conference, which was held in Tokyo March 1961, I would like to consider the principle ‘Asia’ in the post-war paper. Afro-Asian Writers’ Conference was held in agenda of ‘writer’s mission and situation of Asia and Africa for the time being’ against the era of solidarity non -aligned forces of Asia and Africa and the Bandung conference that was raging in Asia in the mid-1950s. This paper tried to analyze the three following aspects of the issues raised by the writers conference. First, the proposition that awareness and reflection of Japan about the history of the past has been highlighted in this conference. However, it is true there is no reflection it, aspects that appear in the complex that was present. Next, is a shadow of security struggle. Position of Japan as a colony of the Cold War is emphasized, but this is also true that one side, a fictional manner one side. Lastly, Judgment on the situation is investigated. 'Situation' of security struggle has requested this conference, but not only political situation, economic development of 'high growth' also affected the Tokyo Conference. Afro-Asian Writers' Conference in Tokyo, showed us aspects of Japanese literature who has to face the scars of wartime, to try to return to Asia. In conclusion, it can be said that it was an incomplete return, which is limited to high economic growth and the Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union.
