Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang on seborrheicdermatitis. Methods : The clinical study was done on 3 cases of seborrheic dermatitis patients with symptoms of flare,scales, pricking and itching. An author prescribed Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang for these patients andchecked VAS(Visual Analogue Scale) scores depending on the patient’s evaluation. Photographies were takenbefore and after the treatment. Results : VAS scores of all patients decreased from 10 to 1,2. Judging by photographies, patients noticeablyimproved in facial skin. As a result of examining VAS scores and photographies, Hwangryuhaedok-tanggagambang was effective on seborrheic dermatitis. Conclusions : From these results, Hwangryuhaedok-tang gagambang may be considered as a basic prescriptionfor seborrheic dermatitis. And an author consider that continuous clinical study will be needed in Korean medicaldermatology.
