초록

Since a photograph is a two-dimensional (2-D) projection of subjects, it is too hard to express the perspective of the objects and to interpret the size, height, distance, etc. of the subjects in the picture. However, it is noted that the subject are realized in the picture with some rules, and therefore we can numerically analyze the subjects in the picture with standard subjects which we know the all the numeric information. It is very difficult to evaluate the size, height, length of the objects directly, but it is possible to evaluate those in a relative way. In this research, we analyze the five out of sixteen pictures in terms of the distance between subjects. The general procedures for this analysis consist of three steps. The first is to choose the pictures which have standard objects of that we know the size information. The second step is to evaluate the height and distance with trigonometric functions and with the gradients. Finally, we can estimate the distances by transforming magnification ratio of different pictures of the same object. Ultimately, the most important thing is to take a picture with proper methods in which the goal of the picture matches. In addition, it is also important to make a database with proper information such as the road signs, the numeric size of the standard objects, the angle of the shot, the angle of view, the size of imaging sensor, the number of pixels of the picture, magnification ratio, etc.
