Abstract
In photography and motion pictures, lighting equipment usage is categorized by its purpose. The categories are classified by the recording mechanism of each medium. Eventually, when filming takes place the timing characteristics and the light generating method, whether it is continuous or instant light source, decides the light source and lighting device. The halogen lamp, HMI lamp, and the Xenon lamp are currently used in photography and motion pictures as lighting sources but there have been more lighting sources put out on the market recently. At this time, the research of the usage potential of emerging substitutional non-electrode PLS light source as a lighting device for photography and motion pictures and the acceptance of experimental data, which is provided by the makers of the lighting source without proper confirmation do not provide sufficient information to decide the exact standard of selection. This research will set the standards of lighting of photography and motion pictures.
