Abstract

This study was performed with 576 children in 19 classes of 7 elementary schools located in Daegu in order to develop the attitude test instrument of non disabled children toward inclusive education through validity process and to determine the relationship of subfactor of the attitude test instrument toward inclusive education to inclusive attitude. The test instrument was adapted from the content of the Inclusion of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Inventory (ISDHH) developed by Hsin-Ling Hung(2005) and went through the validity process with the test instrument of Oh Won Seok and Seo Young Ran (2006) which was modified and used for our real situation. The conclusion based on these results are as below. First, non disabled children's attitude test instrument toward inclusive education was composed of 5 factors including inclusive attitude, contact frequency, affection and expectation toward positive and negative recognition of classmates. The reliability in composition validity and item internal consistency of this attitude test instrument was very high so it was proper for the instrument to test non disabled children's attitude toward inclusive education. Second, in the result examining relationship model between background and inclusion-related variables of non disabled children toward inclusive education, it was shown that grades and experience of service in facilities in the case of background variables and contact frequency, affection and expectation about negative and positive recognition of classmates in the case of inclusion-related variables were closely related. As above, in the attitude of non disabled children toward inclusive education, the child who is low grade, has service experience in facilities and has a lot of opportunities to contact with disabled children in school and other activities feels friendly towards disabled children and has positive attitude. In addition, it is shown that these children perceive positively toward recognition of classmates.
