일반학교 시각장애인 중등교사의 교직 경험에 대한 현상학적 연구

본 연구는 일반학교에서 근무하는 시각장애인 중등교사들이 학교 현장에서 겪는 다양한 경험을 조사하여 시각장애인 중등교사들의 교직 수행 지원을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 전국 공립 중등학교 시각장애인교사 5명을 대상으로 반구조화된 면담지를 사용하여 심층면담을 실시하였다. 그 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시각장애인 중등교사들은 물리적 환경에 대하여 불편함을 느끼는 정도가 개인마다 다르며, 교과 지도, 학생 생활지도, 행정 업무를 수행하는데 어려움은 있으나 자신감과 자긍심도 함께 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 시각장애인 중등교사들은 친밀한 대인 관계를 형성하고 있다는 의견과 대인관계 형성에 어려움이 있다는 부정적인 의견이 함께 나타났으며, 원만한 대인관계 형성을 위하여 노력하고 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 일반학교 시각장애인 중등교사의 교직 수행 능력을 향상하기 위한 제언을 하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the performance of teaching profession based on the task analysis of various experiences of regular secondary school teachers with visual impairment in the field of education. 5 teachers who agreed to participate in the study had the in-depth interviews based upon questions of the teaching experiences of regular secondary school teachers with visual impairment. The results are as follows. First, regular secondary school teachers with visual impairment felt uncom fortable about physical environment in different ways. There are difficulties in class and administrative working due to the unestablished Paraprofessional system for teachers with visual impairment and the lack of assisting techno logical device support. Despite those difficulties, teachers’ self-confidence and self-esteem were still high. Second, regular secondary school teachers with visual impairment were having problems or felt sense of closeness in personal relationships. Still, they were making ongoing efforts to establish horizontal relationships. This study, based on these findings, suggests the ways to improve performance of teaching profession.
