Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the Korean Computerized Cognitive Rehabilitation Program(CoTras) on visual perception of patient with cerebellar stroke. Seven patients diagnosed with cerebellar stroke who were admitted to a rehabilitation hospital in Daegu were enrolled for 8 weeks from April 3, 2017 to May 26, 2017. CoTras was used for each session for 30 minutes (three times a week) during each intervention period. MVPT-3(Motor-Free Visual Perception Test; 14-65 questions) and DTVP-A(Developmental Test of Visual Perception-Adolescent and Adult) were administered to assess visual perception before, during, and after intervention. There was a significant improvement in MVPT-3 and DTVP-A total scores after CoTras intervention(p<.01, p<.05). There was a significant improvement in all subscales(visual short-term memory, visual closure, spatial orientation, figure ground, visual closure 2, visual short-term memory 2) of MVPT-3(p<.05). In DTVP-A, there was a significant improvement in figure-ground, form constance, visual closure(p<.05), but there was no significant difference in copying, visual motor speed, visual motor search(p>.05). The results of this study demonstrate the potential of CoTras to improve visual perception function in cerebellar stroke patients. In the future, it is meaningful to present the therapeutic rationale for the visual function of cerebellar stroke patients using CoTras in clinical practice.
