환경인식, 생활환경과 친환경행동에 관한 연구-사회자본의 매개효과를 중심으로-

초록

본 연구는 환경인식 및 생활환경이 친환경행동에 미치는 영향과 이를 매개하는 사회자본의 효과를 실증분석을 통하여 제시하고자 하였다. 이에 친환경행동에 대한 선행연구와 더불어 사회자본과 친환경행동의 관계에 대한 검토를 수행하였다. 그리고 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 사회심리적 요인, 인구사회학적 요인, 사회환경적 요인을 선정하여 다차원적인 모형을 설정하였다. 본 연구에서는 2017년도에 진행하였던 전라북도 사회조사 자료를 분석에 이용하였으며, 구조방정식 모형을 활용하여 매개효과 분석을 수행하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 선행연구와 마찬가지로 환경인식과 생활환경은 친환경행동에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 사회자본은 환경인식과 친환경행동의 관계를 매개하며, 사회자본이 미치는 간접효과는 정(+)의 방향으로 나타났다. 끝으로 사회자본은 생활환경과 친환경행동의 관계 또한 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만 사회자본이 미치는 간접효과는 부(-)의 방향으로 나타나 사회자본이 생활환경과 친환경행동의 관계를 억제하는 비일관적 매개효과가 나타났다. 이처럼 본 연구에서는 사회자본이 친환경행동의 관계에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 작용할 수 있으며, 이러한 사회자본은 매개변수로서 친환경행동에 미치는 영향 요인에 대한 보다 구체적인 해석을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있을 것이다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to present the effects of environmental awareness and living environment on pro-environmental behavior mainly with mediating effects using the social capital through empirical analysis. In the literature review, previous studies related to pro-environmental behavior were meticulously reviewed, and the implications focusing on the relationship between social capital and pro-environmental behavior were analytically reviewed. In the research frame and methodology, socio-psychological factors, demographic and sociological factors, and socio-environmental factors were determined as major influencing factors and established a multidimensional model-structural equation model (SEM) using questionnaire survey data conducted in Jeollabuk-do province of the South Korea in 2017. The main results are as follows. As with prior studies, environmental awareness and living environment were shown to influence pro-environmental behavior. And social capital mediated the relationship between environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior, and the indirect effect of social capital was positive. Finally, social capital also mediated the relationship between living environment and pro-environmental behavior. However, the indirect effects of social capital were negative, which showed inconsistent mediation in the relationship between living environment and pro-environmental behavior. In this study, social capital may act as a factor influencing the relationship of pro-environmental behavior, and it may be meaningful in that it provides a more specific interpretation of the influencing factors of pro-environmental behavior as a mediator variable.
