Abstract

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on the range of motion of the upper limb joint in patients with acute stroke. The subjects of the study were selected by establishing a person who meets the criteria and exclusion criteria for repetitive transcranial stimulating treatment among patients hospitalized in a general hospital in the Yeongnam region. A total of 4 subjects were selected, and out of the 20th study period, establish bass line for three sessions, and 17 sessions were repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation treatment and occupational therapy were performed at the same time. The intervention was conducted 5 times a week for a total of 17 sessions, 30 minutes each, and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation was applied for 20 minutes and occupational therapy was applied for 10 minutes. In order to measure the change in the range of motion of the joint, shoulder joint flexion, extension, abduction and elbow joint flexion were measured using DrGoniometer every session, and a fugl-meyer evaluation was intervention before and after intervention to measure the change in the range of motion of the joint. The results of this study are as follows. First, in patients with acute stroke, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation shows an improvement in the range of motion of the upper limb joint. Second, in patients with acute stroke, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation shows improvement in upper limb function. From these results, it was found that the repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation showed an improvement in the range of motion of the upper limb joint in patients with acute stroke. Through the results of this study, it was confirmed that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation can be usefully used when establishing a intervention plan for patients with acute stroke.
