Abstract
This study examined the longitudinal changes and interrelationships among self-esteem, disability acceptance, and life satisfaction of people with disabilities using data from the 2020–2022 Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED). Longitudinal data collected from 1,723 individuals with disabilities over three years were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS. The validity of the measurement model was verified through confirmatory factor analysis, and the structural relationships among the main variables were analyzed using ACLM. The results were as follows. First, self-esteem, disability acceptance, and life satisfaction of people with disabilities showed significant autoregressive effects, indicating that these variables remained relatively stable over time. Second, regarding the longitudinal reciprocal relationships among self-esteem, disability acceptance, and life satisfaction among people with disabilities, self-esteem functioned as a factor that enhanced life satisfaction over time, but it did not have a direct effect on disability acceptance. Disability acceptance consistently exerted positive effects on both subsequent self-esteem and life satisfaction, and life satisfaction also positively influenced both self-esteem and disability acceptance. These findings demonstrate the longitudinal interdependence among self-esteem, disability acceptance, and life satisfaction among individuals with disabilities and provide implications for policies and interventions aimed at enhancing their psychological well-being and quality of life.
