민주화운동기록물의 범주 및 분류기준에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study purposes on seizing the meaning of making of the Korean Democratic Movement Archives(KDMA) and tries to classify Korean democratic movement manuscripts collections into 18 sectional movement and to conceptualize each section and category. Now KDMA holds records of 400,000 items. Korean democratic movement manuscripts collections consists of various provenances of organizations and corporative bodies that have been and had been. Therefore the KDMA is called by manuscripts repository because of character of the manuscripts. I classified Korean democratic movement into 18 sections, for examples, Labour, Agriculture, Youth, Student, Culture & Art, Poverty, Woman, Human Rights, Politics, Union etc. I set up the MRG(Management Record Group) of 18 section as grand category of Korean Democratic Movement since 1945 and typified organizations included a section into several categories. These attempts are not predetermined logical scheme, namely ‘schemes of subject classification,’ but are tried to inductive view point of ‘from the bottom to the top.’ The works of collecting Korean democratic movement manuscripts and establishing the scheme of classification are preceding tasks for balanced writing of Korean contemporary history. I studied the basic category and principle of classification about Korean democratic movement manuscripts collections on the basis of practical experience of KDMA for these final object.
