중년의 음주와 자살생각의 관계 : 가족지지의 조절된 우울의 매개효과

초록

본 연구는 중년의 음주와 자살생각의 관계에서 가족지지의 조절된 우울의 매개효과를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 독성가설, 태도이론, 스트레스 취약성 모델, 스트레스 완충 모델을 이론적 근거로 하여 중년 1,009명을 대상으로 통계분석을 진행하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 음주는 우울과 자살생각을 높이는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 음주와 자살생각의 관계에서 우울은 정(+)의 방향에서 부분매개하였다. 이는 음주는 자살생각에 직접적인 영향을 미치지만, 우울을 통해 자살생각을 더욱 증폭시키는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 제시된 매개모형에서 가족지지의 조절효과를 탐색한 결과, 우울과 자살생각을 가족지지는 조절하였다. 즉, 음주로부터 영향을 받은 우울은 자살생각으로 가는 경로에서 가족지지가 투입되었을 때, 자살생각은 완충되었다. 이상의 결과는 학술적인 차원에서 전술한 이론들을 지지하였고, 실천적으로는 중년의 자살생각에 치명적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려진 음주, 우울을 완화할 수 있는 요인으로 가족지지의 중요성을 입증하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of moderated depression of family support on the relationship between drinking and suicidal ideation of middle-aged adults. For this purpose, intoxication theory, attitude theory, diathesis-stress process, and stress buffering model were used as theoretical bases, and statistical analyses were conducted with 1,009 middle-aged individuals. The results showed that the first, drinking increased depression and suicidal ideation, and the second, depression partially mediated the relationship between drinking and suicidal ideation. The third, we examined the moderating effect of family support in the proposed mediation model and found that family support moderated the path between depression and suicidal ideation, depression influenced by drinking buffered suicidal ideation when family support was added to the path to suicidal ideation. These findings support the above theories, and further show that family support is an important role for reducing suicidal ideation among middle-aged.
