초록
In a patient receiving gabexate, a non-peptide protease inhibitor might also be treated with other medications through additional venous lines. There are cases in which medications are injected with the same line as gabexate in spite of a lack of data on compatibility and as a result, some unintended physicochemical reactions may result. A survey was taken to overview medications used in combination with gabexate in Asan Medical Center and experiments were conducted with medications that had no formal compatibility references. Ceftizoxime, ceftriaxone, cefotaxime and imipenem/cilastatin were found to be the most frequently combined antibiotics used from June to September in 2008 and were selected as experimental subjects. One to one mixtures (gabexate(G)-antibiotics(A)-TPN(T)) were prepared respectively in vitro. Observations were done of the general physical traits of each mixture and their pH. In addition, turbidity and insoluble small particles were measured in mixtures where gabexate was mixed with antibiotics or TPN containing non-lipids. Laser particle analyzers were used with gabexate combined with a lipid containing TPN. In conclusion, there were different results among combined mixtures considering compatibility. More experiments are needed to fully obtain data on compatibility of gabexate with other drugs.
