This paper investigates the status of case marker ‘-eke’ by examining the distribution and characteristics of this morpheme. And characterizes the constituent of sentence ‘NP+-eke’ construction, so called dative subject in Korean syntax study. For the purpose of these, it inquires the features of other adverb case markers related to subject category and criterion of identification in this category. As a result, this paper insists that ‘-eke’ is not a subject case marker, but adverb case marker. And according to this result, ‘NP+-eke’ construction is not a subject. The results reside in the fact that on identification of case category in Korean, morphological aspect and semantic aspect construct essential criterion, each having equal importance. This point of view is always applied to Case Information Processing in Korean.
