초록
This research is aimed to examine the patterns of American native speakers' use in dealing with spoken American English grammar, especially in terms of the uses of the compound indefinite pronouns: everyone and everybody. As findings of the study, the most frequent patterns are the use of they instead of he or she when it refers back to the compound indefinite pronouns. Moreover, regarding the subject-possessive agreement of the compound indefinite pronouns, the use of the plural pronoun, their, instead of singular pronoun, his or her was favored. Nevertheless, concerning the compound indefinite pronouns as a subject, most American English speakers favored the use of singular verbs, but a few used the plural verbs.
