朱子的“浩然之氣”詮釋

Abstract

Zhuzi adopted a unique approach to the interpretation of "Great Spirit" from the viewpoint of neo-Confucianism. He analyzed the relationships between "xinqi", "xinyan", and "zhiqi" while explaining "bonmoneiwai" and also tried to examine the features of "shenmi", "gangda", "xiantian", and "chuangsheng" in "Great Spirit". Moreover, he regarded "having no shame to the sky or the land" as the core of Great Spirit" and attempted to adhere strictly to "yili" since he interpreted it based on morality. Zhuzi interpreted that to cultivate "yangqi", "zhiyan" should be the premise while "zhiyang", "peiyi", and "jiyi" should be the basis. From this interpretation, it can be seen that he emphasized practice, thoroughness, and consistence in the cultivation of morality. This study took notice of the fact that Zhuzi's interpretation to "Great Spirit" densely reflects his idea based on bibliography and discussed that from several aspects: the goals of interpretation, the methods of interpretation, and the characteristics of interpretation. Considering the fact that neo-Confucianism after Song Dynasty took Zhuzi’s interpretation as an academic model to interpret the Classical Cannon, it is expected that Zhuzi’s interpretation to "Great Spirit" can provide an academic significance for this research.
