연구배경: 지난 20여 년간의 가정의학회 학술대회의 발자취 를 돌아보면서 강좌 주제, 강좌 수, 참가 인원의 변화 양상 등을 살펴보고 향후 전 회원이 만족할 수 있는 학회로의 발전 방향 을 모색하고자 한다. 방법: 대한가정의학회 홈페이지를 통해 수집된 1992년부터 2007년까지의 학술대회 강좌 2,132개를 ‘최신가정의학’ 교과 서의 목차를 기준으로 하여 주제를 분류하였다. 가정의학 원 론, 질병예방과 건강증진, 신체 증상, 임상 수기, 질병의 5가지 항목과 여기에 각 위원회별 강좌와 기타 항목을 추가하여 총 7 가지 대분류 항목을 정하였고, 1990년대와 2000년대로 나누어 전반기와 후반기간의 대주제, 소주제 등의 변화 양상을 보았 다. 결과: 지난 20년 동안 가정의학 학술대회 참석인원은 급증하 였으며 이중 전공의 수의 증가가 두드러졌다. 가정의학 원론 적인 내용에서는 노인의학과 완화의학, 질병예방과 건강증진 분야에서는 비만, 운동, 영양 강좌, 임상수기 강좌에서는 위내 시경과 대장내시경이 의미 있게 증가하고 있었다. 대분류 항 목 중에서는 가정의학 원론 강좌가 질병 항목에 비하여 다소 줄어드는 양상을 보였다. 결론: 지난 20여년 동안 회원들의 관심사의 변화에 따라 학술 대회 강좌의 주제도 변화하였다. 회원들의 관심사를 반영한 주제 선정도 중요하지만, 학술대회의 발전을 위해서는 가정 의학의 필수 지식 강좌와의 균형도 고려되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
Background: Throughout the past 20 years in the Korean academy of family medicine seasonal conference, on-going study is done to promote overall development and satisfaction of the conference participants and to overlook the trend of the conference subject, the number of classes, the number of participants, etc. Methods: About 2,132 topics during the conference from the year 1992 to 2007 collected from the Korean academy of family medicine website were categorized by subject based on the standard of the contents of the latest textbook. There were a total of 7 main classifi cations including 5 categories like 'principles of family medicine', 'disease prevention and health promotion', 'symptoms', 'clinical procedures', 'diseases' and adding 2 categories such as each committee’s classes and other subjects. The scope of the changes of the main and sub-titles were categorized as in the 1990s and 21 century. Results: The number of attendees has increased during the past 20 years, especially the residents were the main portion of the participants. On the proportion of the clinical topics, there was a remarkable increase of geriatric medicine, palliative medicine, obesity, exercise, nutrition, gastroscopy, and colonoscopy procedure in the later half rather than the former half period. In the fi eld of the main category, the core principle subjects of family medicine seemed to be decreased in contrast to disease category. Conclusion: During the last 20 years, the titles of family medicine conference are changing with the trend of practice. The core knowledge of family medicine should be maintained and balanced for the future of family medicine conference.
