일본에서의 붓다관의 변용變容: 깨달은 자에서 종조宗祖로

Abstract

After the death of the Buddha, Buddhism was developed and the concept of the Buddha through changed from the theory of One Buddha to the theory of Many Buddhas. This paper investigates how the Concept of the Buddha through in Japan. In particular, I considered the concept of the Buddha through from the end of Nara period to the Kamakura period, where the characteristics of Japanese Buddhism can be seen. Japanese Buddhism has the characteristic of sectarian Buddhism, and through the process of introduction and development of Buddhism, it is facing the theory of Many Buddhas. This is a characteristic of East Asian Buddhism that accept Mahayana Buddhism and a characteristic after the concept of the Buddha thought was established by the theory of many Buddhas. Therefore, in Japan, the concept of the Buddha thought was propagated and developed by the founders of each sects. This is often seen in the teachings of Pureland sect of Honen and JodoShin sect of Sinran. And the concept of the Buddha thought of Japanese Buddhism. In this paper, I have examined the Change in Apperance of the Concept of the Buddha thought of Japanese Buddhism, but there is no overall process of change, and there is a limit to limited period. And the Concept of the Buddha thought of Zen sect and Hokke sects was also excluded. This part remains for further research.
