초록
Ballet <The Sleeping Beauty> has been often referred to the celebration of an ideal m arriage and the illustrations of being a “perfect”woman in the frame of patriarchic perspective. Based on the analysis of Charles Perrault’s narrative and Petipa’s scripts, this study aims to uncover the multifaced characterizations of the female characters in the ballet. The leading female characters, Aurora and the fairies, in the choreographic structure that supports the expressions of the female subjectivity, portray the independent character of a woman.
