A Study on the Concept and the Meaning of the Archive Performance in Dance – Focusing on the「Rite of Spring(2013)」from the Viewpoint of Annales School

This study is about analysing the archive performance work, Rite of Spring(2013) from the viewpoint of the Annales School to research the concept of archive performance and its possibilities for artistic application. The artistic approach as archive performance enables a new search for the facts of history to find the recontextualized and newly completed structure in the work. In addition, this makes it possible for a new interpretation and cognition on the established history and a research on the collective mind-set and emotion. As a result, this study shows the necessities of archiving and the prospects for consecutive researches to enlarge to the aspect of somatic turn as cultural anthropological speculation.
