The purpose of this research is to investigate the function and role of dance in terms of social welfare and explore the potential of dance wel fare as a social contribution. First of all, as our society has experienced rapid economic growth, various measures have been discussed to improve the quality of people’s lives. The most effective measure is to improve the quality of life through the popularization of dance. In other words, dance welfare should guarantee that all people, regardless of age, sex and class, be able to enjoy the various benefits of culture, the arts and play as much as they want. In this regard, dance welfare ensures better life both physi cally and spiritually, extending the concept of the existing concept of so cial welfare. That is, unlike social welfare in an economic aspect, dance welfare aims to improve the quality of life in a more practical way to help provide a balanced life by providing spiritual and cultural richness. In other words, dance welfare as a social contribution allows all people to enjoy various benefits of cultural welfare and guarantees participation in dance for the underprivileged.
