본 연구에서는 폐탄광 지역의 산림복원 계획 수립시 유용하게 활용할 수 있는 지리정보시스템(Geographic Information Systems, GIS) 기반의 의사결정지원시스템을 개발하였다. 채광활동으로 인해 발생한 산림훼손지의 특성을 유형별로 구분하기 위하여 산림기후대, 채광방법, 가시권, 관리용이도, 경사도, 목표임분의 6가지 조건을 복합적으로 고려하였으며, 산림훼손지의 유형에 따라 고유 코드를 부여하여 식재수종 및 공사단가 데이터베이스와 연동될 수 있도록 하였다. 시스템의 개발도구로는 ArcMap, ArcObjects, Visual Basic for Application(VBA)이 활용되었다. 개발된 시스템을 강원도 삼척 일대의 폐탄광 지역에 적용한 결과, 산림훼손지 구역의 특성에 따라 적합한 식재수종과 공사비용 정보를 제공할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study presents a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based decision support system for planning the reforestation at abandoned coal mines. The characteristics of deforested zone due to mine development were analyzed and categorized to define the schema of GIS database. Six criteria (i.e., forest-climate zone, mining method, visibility, managerial condition, slope gradient, reforestation purpose) were considered to classify the deforested zone and to generate an unique code in database. ArcMap, ArcObjects and Visual Basic for Application (VBA) were used to implement the system. The application to the Samcheok coal block in Korea shows that the system could present useful information to select suitable trees for the reforestation and can also provide a cost evaluation tool to effectively support the planning work.
