Abstract
The characterization of fractured reservoir is very important since the fluid in fractured reservoir flows through complex fracture network. Based on the stochastic discrete fracture network (DFN), one of the fractured reservoir description methods, this study developed the 3D discrete fracture network model applied both 2D horizontal fracture data from seismic survey and 1D vertical fracture data from FMI logging. The heterogeneous fractured area was demonstrated using the weighted average method and the combination of 1D vertical FMI log and 2D horizontal area survey, and converting to the fracture density P32. As a result, for the entire depth, not only the horizontal heterogeneity of the horizontal fracture density, but vertical heterogeneity of the FMI logging data were reflected well. Moreover, 3D discrete fracture network for the fractured reservoir at the Vietnam offshore was created by applying 2D seismic and FMI logging data to examine the applicability of the model. The integration of the seismic data and FMI logs demonstrated the characteristics of fractured reservoir, such as the heterogeneity with more realistic manner.
