초록

While the bio-fuels were introduced to promote agricultural industry and decrease air pollution in 1960s, the purpose of the bio-fuels has been changed to execute the Climatic Change Convention and strengthen energy security since the year of 2000. Bio fuels including bio ethanol and bio diesel have several advantages such as value-added agriculture industry, new job creating, reducing poverty, replacing fossil energy, developing new export industry, and so on. On the other hand, bio fuels contain some disadvantages such as threatening food security and, destructing forest and ecosystem, simultaneously. This study focuses on identifying the supply potentials and development of bio fuels in Asia countries. The findings of this study demonstrated that Asia countries retain potentials and feasibility of bio fuel development. In addition, the results of this study identified that Asia countries could be in charge of green oil fields. For instance, palm oil production in Indonesia and Malaysia account for 80% of world production as well as high production potential in Indonesia. Since the advantages and disadvantages of bio fuels are interrelated in terms of national goals, government involvement are considered significant to achieve goals both in economy and environment.

Abstract
