학습용 모바일 애플리케이션 개발 연구의 체계적 문헌 분석 - 학습맥락 및 학습결과를 중심으로

본 연구는 학습용 모바일 앱이 단순한 기술적 구현 가능성보다 교수-학습의 관점에서 논의되어야 할필요성에 주목하여, 관련 선행연구에 나타난 모바일 학습의 학습맥락과 학습결과 중심의 동향을 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 RISS를 활용하여 총 204편의 연구를 수집하고, 학습용 모바일 앱 개발 연구의 동향및 성숙도와, 교수학습 과정을 파악할 수 있는 학습맥락 및 학습결과에 대한 체계적 문헌 분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 학습용 모바일 앱 개발 연구는 아이폰의 등장 및 팬데믹 시기에 집중적으로 증가하여, 기술 발전과 사회적 요구에 밀접하게 반응하는 시의성 높은 연구 분야임을 확인하였다. 특히‘과학기술정보교육’에 관한 앱 개발 사례가 가장 많았으며, 앱의 프로토타입 및 초기 버전을 개발하여제시한 ‘설계및개발’ 단계로 진입한 연구의 비중이 높게 나타났다. 학습용 앱 개발 연구의 배경이 되는 학습맥락은 ‘형식교육’, ‘학령기 아동’의 비중이 가장 높았지만, 전반적으로 ‘학교밖교육’과 ‘성인학습자’를 위한 학습용 앱들도 두 번째로 높은 비율을 차지하였다. 학습용 앱의 활용으로 기대되는 학습결과는 정보전달 중심의 ‘언어적 정보’, 문제해결 및 고차적 사고 중심의 ‘지적 기능’ 순으로 나타났으며, 이를 통해 학습용 모바일 앱이 학교 교육을 넘어 직무 기반 학습, 자기주도적 역량 강화, 현장 중심 훈련 등 다양한 교육 환경으로 확장되고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 종합하여학습용 앱 개발에 대한 시사점 및 후속 연구의 방향을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study highlights the necessity of examining mobile learning applications from a teaching and learning perspective for effective implementation. It analyzes key learning contexts and outcomes in mobile learning application research and provides relevant insights. A systematic literature review of 204 studies from RISS database was conducted based on six categories: (1) publication year, (2) research topic, (3) research stage, (4) learning type, (5) learner type, and (6) learning outcome. The findings indicate that research in this field surged around the emergence of smartphones and the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting its sensitivity to technological and social changes. Most studies focused on formal education and school-aged learners, particularly in science and technology education. However, a notable portion of research also addressed adult learners and informal education settings. The expected learning outcomes were primarily categorized into verbal information and intellectual skills. These results highlight the expanding scope of mobile learning apps beyond traditional schooling, extending into workplace learning and lifelong education. Based on the review, this study presents implications for sustainable app development and directions for future research.
