초등학교 돌봄교실 기반 ‘스마트로봇 활용 프로그래밍교육’ 사례연구

본 연구는 초등학교 돌봄교실 수업환경에서 스마트로봇을 활용한 프로그래밍 교육의 효과를사례연구를 통해 실증적으로 검증하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 목적적 표집방법을 통해 서울 소재 A 초등학교 돌봄전담사 및 1-2학년 20명으로 구성된 1개 돌봄교실 학급학생이 연구에참여하였으며, 약 4개월간의 수업기간 동안 주 1회 참여관찰 및 심층면접이 이루어졌다. 연구결과, 교사와 학생 각각 수업 초기단계와 적응 이후 단계의 경험 양상이 다소 상이하게 나타났다. 우선 교사는 강한 흥미를 바탕으로 수업에 적극적인 태도를 보였으나 이내 프로그래밍 교육에대해 ‘놀이’가 아닌 ‘학습’으로 인식이 변화하며 수업지도안에 의존하는 모습을 보였다. 학생들은디지털 적응력을 바탕으로 높은 동기를 보였는데, 교재기반의 수업이 반복되면서 지루함을 표출하였다. 상호작용 측면에서는 학생들의 개인차가 발생하면서 협동과 경쟁이 혼재하여 나타나기도 하였다. 결론적으로, 스마트로봇과 프로그래밍이라는 새로운 영역의 수월한 교수학습을 위해교수자의 디지털 역량, 놀이기반 학습전략 등의 조건이 구비되어야 하며, 맥락에 기반한 깊은 수업 이해가 지속되어야 할 필요성이 제기되었다.
Abstract
This study was performed to experimentally examine the effects of programming education with the Smart robot through Case Study. With a purposeful sampling, a daycare teacher and 20 first and second grade elementary school students, which is located in Seoul, Korea, participated in this study. The researchers observed the class once a week for four months and interviewed the participants when necessary. As a result, the teacher showed a strong interest at first. However, she mainly relied on the instructional plan, as she realized that the purpose of the class was not “playing” but “learning.” Students also had strong motivation as digital natives at the beginning of the class, but showed boredom with the repetition of the learning activities prepared in advance. Meanwhile, the collaboration was not occurring properly partly because of individual differences. Lastly, the suggestions were made as follow: some of the prerequisites such as teachers’ digital competency and playful learning strategies were needed with the understanding of the class based on the learning context.
