The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the status and characteristics of Web-based biographical information sources. Hence, this study examined the current status of Web-based biographical sources in China, Taiwan, Japan, and the U.S. It also conducted a comparative analysis of family names from the subject dictionary and Biography of China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), reference books of China and the Chinese Historical Biographical Database and the China Biographical Database Project (CBDP) of the U.S. Furthermore, the problems related to status investigation and analyses of the Chinese biographical sources were studied. In this study, some suggestions were made to improve the management and usability of those biographical information sources in China and Korea.
Abstract
본 연구는 웹 기반 중국인물정보원의 현황조사와 분석을 목적으로 중국과 대만 및 일본과 미국의 웹기반 중국인물정보원의 현황을 조사하고, 중국의 CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure) 정보원데이터베이스 중 주제사전 영역의 하나인 ‘성씨(姓氏)’와 인물전기(人物傳記) 영역과 미국의 CBDB(China Biographical Database Project)의 ‘중국역대인물전기데이타베이스(中国历代人物传记资料库)’를 비교 분석하였다. 나아가 웹 기반 중국인물정보원의 현황조사와 분석 결과에 따른 문제점을 살피고 효율적인 관리와 활용을 위하여 중국과 한국의 바람직한 방향을 제안하였다.
