Abstract

The archival materials of the National Assembly Archives(NAA) are important assets that prove the accountability of legislative activities and contain evidence value, information value, and historical value. However, the finding aid currently provided by the NAA website makes it difficult for users to access the National Assembly`s archival materials they want and hinders users’ satisfaction with the archival reference service. Therefore, this study focused on the research guide, a new type of finding aid, as a method for revitalizing the archival reference service of the NAA. The research guide supports browsing-based information search so that all users, from researchers in fields such as political science and law to the general public, can easily access the archival information of the NAA. Accordingly, this study examined the process of organizing the archival information, which is a precedent process for establishing a research guide, focusing on the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, which is the core standing committee of the National Assembly. In addition, a research guide prototype was established by investigating various archival information related to personnel hearings, one of the main activities of the National Assembly.
