방임경험이 청소년의 학업성적에 미치는 영향: 진로정체감의 조절효과를 중심으로

본 연구는 방임경험이 청소년의 학업성적에 미치는 영향을 파악하고, 그 과정에서 진로정체감의 조절효과를 검증하기 위한 연구이다. 한국 아동·청소년패널조사(KCYPS) 중1패널 3차년도 데이터의 2,259명 청소년을 대상으로 중다회귀분석을 실시하였으며 연구의 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 방임경험은 청소년의 학업성적과 부적인 관계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로정체감은 방임경험이 학업성적에 영향을 주는 과정에서 조절효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 진로정체감이 방임과 학업성적과의 관계에서 보호요인으로 작용할 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구결과를 기반으로 방임이라는 사회적 문제에 대한 사회적 개입방안을 논하고, 청소년의 당면 과제인 학업성적 및 건강한 학교생활적응을 위한 실천적, 정책적 제언을 논의하고자 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of adolescent’s exposure to neglect on school grades: moderation effects of career identity. The total number of participants included were 2,259 students who had been engaged in 1st year of middle school, from the 2012 Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey’s panel data. Multiple regression analyses was employed to examine the relationship and the moderating effects of key variable. Results are as follows. First, neglect had negative impacts on adolescent’s school grades. Second, career identity was found to be a significant moderating variable. These results suggest that adolescent’s exposure to neglect was significantly associated with school grades directly, meanwhile the career identity works as a protective factor in the association between neglect and school grades. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide an empirical evidence of the intervention which can be utilized, to improve school performance of adolescent’s exposure to neglect.
