치위생과정에 근거를 둔 임상치위생학의 교육 실태

이 연구는 치위생과정에 근거한 임상치위생학 교육과정 을 도입하기 위하여 현재 운영 중인 임상치위생학의 교육 의 실태를 조사한 연구이다. 50개 대학의 (학)과장을 대상 으로 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 면접조사 및 전자우편 조사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 설문에 응답한 대학의 53.1%는 1999년 이전(1977- 1999년)에 개설되었고, 46.9%는 2000년 이후(2000- 2006년)에 개설되었다. 학제는 3년제 치위생과가 28 개교(87.5%)이었고, 4년제 치위생학과가 4개교 (12.5%)이었다. 입학정원은 40명 이하(37.4%)가 가 장 많았다. 2. 임상치위생학 실습에서 교수 한 명이 지도하는 학생 의 수는 평균 22명이었고, 응답 대학의 62.5%가 포 괄치위생과정에 관한 교육을 하고 있었다. 실습 시 평균적으로 한 명의 환자가 실습실을 내원하는 횟수 는 특별히 정해놓지 않는다(32.3%)가 가장 많았고, 그 다음으로 1회(29.0%), 3회(16.1%), 2회(12.9%), 4 회(9.7%) 순이었다. 3. 치위생과정의 다섯 단계에 관한 강의여부에서 사정 과 수행단계는 대부분의 대학에서 실시하고 있었으 며, 치위생판단(68.8%), 계획수립(65.6%), 평가 (68.8%)는 비교적 낮았다. 4. 실제로 강의 시간에 치위생과정의 개념에 관한 교육 이 있는지 조사한 결과, 56.7%의 대학에서 강의가 이루어지고 있었다. 강의에서 사용하는 주 교재는 ‘Clinical practice of the dental hygienist (Wilkins) 또 는 임상치위생학 (김숙향 역)’이 40.0%로 가장 많았 다. 이를 종합해 볼 때, 치위생과정을 임상치위생학 교육과 정에 도입하기 위해서는 치위생판단을 위한 진단 모형, 계획수립의 절차, 평가 방법에 관한 교육을 보강해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the educational status of dental hygiene process of care and to provide foundation for introducing curriculums focused on it. Questionnaire (14 questions) on educational status of clinical dental hygiene based on dental hygiene process of care was distributed in 50 dental hygiene schools with full classes. Research was performed with structured questionnaires on the basis of previous literatures, and interview and e-mail survey was conducted. Collected data were analyzed with Frequency analysis, Descriptive statistics, and Chi-square test using SPSS 12.0, and the results were as follows. The average student to clinical dental hygiene faculty ratio of 22 to one regardless of year of curriculum. Sixty two point five percent of dental hygiene school reported havty tw curriculumtwbout comprehensive dental hygiene process. Regardty tthe distribution of lecture and practical curriculums,tthey were less focused on dental hygiene diagnosis (68.8%), planning (65.6%) and evaluation (68.8%) than on assessment an implementation. Just over half (56.7%) reported having education of dental hygiene process of care during the course of curriculum. In conclusion, it is most desirable to provide integrated education based on dental hygiene process of care by reinforcing dental hygiene diagnosis, planning, and evaluation step.
