Abstract
Postcolonialism in Song of Solomon Colonialism of Western Europe has sticked to its cultural superiority by the immanence of objective validity or rationality. Human beings' reason has been regarded as the universality of the unique values which can measure the differences between animal and human. However, is the pure reason the thing which really exists? If any, why had so many Jews been massacred in Auschwitz? Why did Karl Marx's superb economy theory finish in failure in all the socialist countries without exception? Isn't reason just one expedient to pull rationality deductively from human mind as the wishful thinking? For black folks, to forget past suffering is to forgive another colonialism and the past pain. It is the subjugated people's duty to remember and reconstruct the painful past, however hard it is. For Morrison, America is still the bottom for slaves but it is also the bottom of heaven where Gods looks down high up in the hills. Toni Morrison's novels reveal that reminding the past scars is a show, an active show perhaps, in which we must not forgive the unforgivable 『솔로몬의 노래』를 통해 본 탈식민주의 work easily. It is needed as the premise of existence for the basic confirmation for a becoming subject. What is the existence to blacks and to all humans? It is a constant that cannot be changed or damaged until the end of life. In a human equation of life, Morrison in Song of Solomon adheres to this grass-root existence in Afrocentric discourses and cries out the Afrocentricity by showing black people's existence is always prior to the essence of dominant culture.
