초록
Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the structure and outcomes of local Korean Medicine infertility support programs in Korea to provide evidence for future national-level policy development. Methods: We conducted a literature search of domestic studies published between 2011 and 2023 using OASIS, RISS, and KISS databases. Based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 12 studies were selected. These were reviewed in terms of program structure, participant characteristics, treatment modalities, and clinical outcomes. Results: Program structures differed by region, including eligibility age, inclusion of spouses, use of assisted reproductive technologies(ART), and treatment duration. All programs included herbal medicine, with Jogyeongjongok-tang and Baeranchaksang-bang being the most frequently prescribed. The average clinical pregnancy rate was 15.5%, miscarriage rate was 23.5%, and ongoing pregnancy rate was 78.9%. Acupuncture and moxibustion were frequently used, even when not officially supported by the programs. Conclusions: Local Korean Medicine infertility programs showed clinically meaningful outcomes and high participation rates. To expand these programs nationally, standardization of protocols, a couple-centered integrative approach, and allowance for biomedical treatment collaboration are recommended.
