소련 축구는 세계 스포츠 역사뿐 아니라 예술사에도 깊은 흔적으로 남겼다. 축구의 영역에서는 전술과 훈련 방법에 크게 이바지했고, 예술의 영역에서는 그림과 문학작품, 패션에 이르기까지 다양한 장르에 걸쳐 매우 포괄적이고 광범위한 창작을 남겼다. 현대식 축구가 러시아에 들어온 것은 19세기 말이었음에도, 축구는 비교적 짧은 시간에 여러 영역으로 범주를 넓히며 비약적인 발전을 이루었다. 특히 20세기 초 아방가르드 화가들과 작가들이 여기에 공헌한 바가 컸다. 본 논문은 러시아 아방가르드 예술에 나타난 축구를 살펴봄으로써 소련에서 축구가 지닌 위상과 의미를 밝히고, 소련 축구가 남긴 유산들을 살펴보고자 했다. 그 결과 그들의 전위 예술 속에 탄생한 축구가 실물 축구 이상으로 사람들에게 강한 인상을 남기면서 독창적 유산으로서의 가치를 인정받고 있음을 확인할 수 있다.
Abstract
The impact of Soviet football on the history of world sports and art is significant. The Soviet contribution to the field of football is evidenced by the development of tactics and training methods, while the impact on art is demonstrated by the comprehensive and extensive creations in various genres, ranging from paintings, literature and fashion. The introduction of modern football to Russia in the late 19th century resulted in the rapid expansion of the sport into various categories. In particular, the contributions of avant-garde painters and writers in the early 20th century were instrumental in shaping this discourse. The present paper aims to examine the representation of football in Russian Avant-Garde art, with a view to elucidating its status and meaning in the Soviet Union. In addition, it seeks to explore the legacies left by Soviet football. The findings of this study demonstrate that the football represented in Avant-Garde art left a more profound impression on people than its actual counterpart, thus establishing itself as a unique legacy.
