초록
Objectives: This case report describes the effects of traditional Korean medicine (TKM), particularly Gami-Cheongsimondam-tang, on post-stroke insomnia (PSI) accompanied by nocturia. Case Presentation: A woman in her early 50s developed insomnia and nocturia following a right cerebellar infarction. During a 43-day inpatient stay, she was treated with herbal medicine (Gami-Cheongsimondam-tang and Sopungcheongsimondam-tang) without hypnotics, in addition to acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and moxibustion. Sleep quality and urinary symptoms were assessed using the Korean versions of the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI-K), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI-K), and SF-36. After treatment, the ISI-K score improved from 25 to 10, PSQI-K improved from 18 to 8, and nocturia decreased from 4 times to 0-1 time per night. Both mental and physical quality-of-life scores also increased. No adverse effects were reported. Conclusions: TKM with Gami-Cheongsimondam-tang may provide a safe and effective treatment option for PSI with voiding dysfunction, particularly for patients who cannot take sedatives.
