양측성 상지훈련이 편마비아동의 환측상지 운동학습에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the applicability of bilateral transfer paradigm to the rehabilitation programs for children with hemiplegia by analyzing the effect of simultaneous training of upper limbs with a tapping task on the motor learning of the affected limb. Seven children with hemiplegia performed three tasks, tapping, reaching and grasping, and stamping, in three limb conditions, affected, unaffected, and both. After six weeks of bilateral training using tapping task, post-test was performed on three tasks. For the tapping task, reaction times of the affected and unaffected limb were found to be longer when they performed the task simultaneously compared to when they performed the task separately. The initial difference in reaction time between limb conditions, however, became reduced as the bilateral training proceeded. In addition, the bilateral training led to a reduction in movement time of the affected limb in post-test. These results suggest that the bilateral training may facilitate the motor learning of the affected limb by the overflow from the unaffected limb to the affected limb.
