장애인 가족의 수상 레저스포츠 체험에 관한 현상학적 연구

이 연구는 장애인 가족의 수상 레저스포츠 체험이 가진 의미를 탐색하고 이해하고자 실시하였다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 van Manen(1997)이 해석학적 현상학에서 제안한 네가지 실존체(신체성, 관계성, 공간성, 시간성)을 분석적 틀로 적용하였다. 연구참여자는 다섯 가족, 총 16명이었고 자료 수집은 참여관찰과 심층 인터뷰를 통해 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료는 van Manen이 제안한 4가지 실존체인 신체성, 관계성, 공간성, 시간성을 토대로 분석되었다. 분석 결과 신체성은 ‘깨어남’과 ‘인정’, 관계성은 ‘보임’과 ‘동등’, 공간성은 ‘자유’과 ‘추억’, 시간성은 ‘몰입’과 ‘성찰’로 의미를 도출할 수 있었다. 장애인 가족 구성원은 수상 레저스포츠 체험을 통해 완결적으로 닫힌 모습이 아닌 가능성의 시간 속에서 삶을 만들어가는 존재자의 실존성을 나타내었다. 또한 수상 레저스포츠와 같이 ‘일상적이지 않은 신체활동’에 참여하면서 가족 구성원은 수평적인 소통을 경험하는 동시 가능성을 찾아내고 실현하는 시선에서 가족의 의미를 재해석할 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study aimed to understand the meaning of the lived experiences participating in family water sports with individuals with disabilities (IWD). As the theoretical framework of van Manen (1997) presented, the four existentials (corporeality, relationality, spatiality, temporality) provided a basis for analysis and discussion. Participants were from five families, totaling 16 members with each family including IWD. Data were collected by participant observation, and in-depth interviews. The collected data was analyzed by associating with the four existentials of their lifeworld and depicted the lived experience of family water sport: (corporeality) awakened, recognized; (relationality) visibility, horizontality; (spatiality) freedom, remembrance; (temporality) immersiveness, reflexivity. These findings led to discussing the meaning of family water sports from bodily communication and bodily deviation. Both of these aspects were combined with temporality to recreate human existence. Participants communicated with each other through alternative interactions during the family water sports program, and they also reinterpreted the meaning of family from a perspective of possibility.
