중국 신시기 소설의 전개양상과 논리

Abstract

After cultural revolution, Chinese people were very passionate and idealistic for reconstructing a better nation which would be relieved of earlier trouble. New period was driven by intellectuals who were the biggest victims of cultural revolution, and it was also done by new government which was subtly related to intellectual's activities. So, in this period's literature, we can find 'the right wing' writers and 'the educated youth' played a conspicious parts and tried to rewrite a history according to a intellectual's point of view. In these novels, cultural revolution was interpreted as a sacred suffering, and root-finding literature was a trend to rewrite a history on the basis of rural-utopia. But, As they had gradually been succeeding in reform and open policy after 1985, literature had been making gradual retreat and after all it couldn't influence to society as before and degraded to the status of being on the periphery of society. In this situation, new literature-thought appeared and acted in response to utilitarian literature-thought, which had governed for a long period of time in modern China. They were avant-guard novel and new realistic novel. Avant-guard novel tried to develop fiction's possibility to the utmost limits, and new realistic novel restored a value of reality which had been ignored because of being obstructed by ideology. But these trends of literature become weak after 1989, because commodity economy expanded over all society rapidly in 90's, literature is faced with popular literature's strong challenge. So, various literature trials have happened in 90's, for example, long history novel, new-experience novel, new-civil novel, new-state novel, new-realism novel and so far.
