Abstract
The “system of author's remuneration” was build up with growing of culture market that was made by commercial newspapers and periodicals, which appeared in the flow of urbanization at the end of Qing dynasty & the early of the Republic of China. “Shen News” which can be called the very start of modern commercial periodical in China was institutionalized in 1873, and then “the copyright act of Qing dynasty” was promulgated in 1910. With this, the system of author's remuneration was regislated. Later the system of author's remuneration had influenced on each factor of the act of literature (that is authors, readers, and texts) and at the same time made a significant contribution to expanding and developing modern market of culture in China.
