초록

Abstract

The malignant neoplasm of thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) is a rare tumor and is mostly revealed accidently in the course ofhistologic examinations after surgery. The most common pathologic type is papillary carcinoma；however, the local invasion ofpapillary carcinoma arising in a TGDC is extremely rare. We experienced a case of papillary carcinoma arising in a TGDC withdiffuse mandibular invasion and cervical metastasis in a 50-year-old man. The patient was treated successfully with operationand we report this case with a review of literature. (Korean J Otolaryngol 2006;49:1217-9)
