A Case of Huge Neurofibroma in the Nasal Cavity Removed by Endoscopic Endonasal Approach

Neurofibroma is a benign peripheral nerve sheath tumor that is rarely found in the sinuses or the nasopharynx. In parituclar, vidian nerve neurofibroma is an extremely rare condition, with only two cases reported in the literature worldwide. A 51-year-old male presented with a mass in his left nasal cavity, incidentally discovered 6 months earlier. Imaging studies, including CT and MRI, revealed a well-defined mass measuring 7.4×5.2×5.3 cm in the left nasal cavity. The mass was successfully resected via an endoscopic endonasal approach using radiofre- quency coblation. Histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of neurofibroma. We report the successful resection of a huge neurofibroma derived from the vidian nerve.
